How Rainforest Circles are Creating Deep Relationships
This Spring over 60 community members took part in the first-ever Rainforest Circles learning experience led by Meghan Donohoe and Alicia Wight.
You may have first saw Meghan speak about the Future of Leadership a year ago at LWOL. This presentation sparked demand for exploring the topic further and we spent Innovation Week in November 2022 exploring the new Rainforest Leadership Commitment:
To match the velocity of change, we need trust. Rainforest Leaders ignite trust by inquiring with curiosity, advocating for and amplifying others, nurturing and fostering connections, speaking with candor, and leading with generosity and compassion.
To deepen our understanding on what it takes to "lead" in our quickly changing world, Rainforest Circles was introduced for participating community members to deepen their learning about leadership and grow their connections in the ecosystem.
Participants ranged in occupation from aspiring founders, founders/entrepreneurs, startup employees, freelancers, educators, students, and unemployed individuals. They came from diverse corners of our ecosystem, from new immigrants to individuals who’ve been part of the community for 10+ years.
Throughout the program, circle participants built trusting relationships across the tech ecosystem, explored topics to re-shape their leadership mindsets, and developed leadership behaviours to support more equitable and inclusive cultures and communities.
