How do we measure success?
Edmonton's progress towards supporting innovation is measured by the Rainforest Scorecard Assessment. First used in Edmonton in September 2017, the Scorecard measures the perceptions of members from the ecosystem against the core elements of the six Rainforest Pillars (Leadership, Frameworks, Resources, Activities, Role Models, and Culture).

The scorecard measurement tool is modified but based on scientific research derived from contemporary research in complexity, biology, psychology, sociology, and other related disciplines. These disciplines are synthesized into a new understanding of sustainable economic development. The categories that address the structural and cultural prerequisites for the science of innovation collectively form the Rainforest Pillars.
